Who is responsible for your data
the platform operator is the controller for personal data on RefineGames.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, date of birth, gamertag, gaming platform and preferred positions.
- Club activity: memberships, availability, event replies, votes, clips, posts, transfer listings and reports.
- EA SPORTS FC stats that EA publishes for your club and gamertag.
- Technical data: server logs and the cookies needed to keep you signed in.
Why we use it
- To run your account and your clubs (contract).
- To keep people safe, moderate content and prevent abuse (legitimate interests and legal obligations, including the Online Safety Act 2023).
- To keep under-18s out of adult areas (legitimate interests and legal obligations).
Children
You must be 13 or over. Under-18s get stricter defaults: they aren’t listed on the transfer board, clubs they aren’t in can’t contact them, and 18+ areas are hidden from them.
Who we share it with
- Discord, when you post through a club’s chat bridge (your display name and message).
- RefineHost’s game panel, when a club owner orders a server (name and email).
- A club’s payment provider, when you pay for a membership tier.
We don’t sell personal data or use advertising trackers. Fonts are served from our own servers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your profile, memberships, replies, votes and uploaded clips. We keep moderation records about serious harm for as long as we need them to keep users safe and meet our legal duties.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, and ask us to restrict it. Most of this is on your account page. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary: one to keep you signed in and one to protect forms.
